Education
The LOU Day Program works to teach and develop fundamental math, reading, and writing skill. The goal with this is to enrich daily living for our participants. We use both traditional teaching methods while integrating the latest technology.
Math
The objective of teaching math skills is to better equip our clients with the necessary tools for basic money management. This allows our clients to be more comfortable and confident when making purchases in the community.
Reading
Reading activities focus on recognition of common words and signs found in the community at large. We find our clients are better able to navigate in the community as a result of having basic reading skills.
Writing
Writing lessons range from perfecting a signature to expressing thoughts. Clients have pen pals from across town to across the Atlantic. The exchange between people through the written word enriches both parties.
